This year marks a monumental transition for Our Friends Place. After more than 30 years of visionary leadership, Sue Thiers Hesseltine is retiring as Executive Director and moving to the advisory council. 
 
Sue’s impact is immeasurable. 
 
Under her guidance, Our Friends Place opened North Texas’s first transitional living centers for young women, providing not just a safe haven but the skills and confidence needed to build independent, self-sufficient lives.

As we step into this new phase, we are inspired by the work Sue has accomplished, and the unwavering support of partners like you. Together, we’ve helped young women break generational cycles of abuse, neglect, poverty, and homelessness. 

But our work is far from over. 

The challenges facing women today require us to find creative ways to continue to be change agents in our community, just like Sue! 

Together, we can imagine—and build—a future where every young woman has the tools to achieve her goals.
