Our Friends’
Place was established in 1985 and began serving clients in 1987
with a Therapeutic Group Home for girls, ages 10-17. The success
of this home and our recognition of another need led to the
opening of the Transitional Living Center for young women, ages
18-24, in 1992.
Our Friends' Place
receives more than 75% of its funding donations from
individuals, foundations, corporations, religious organizations,
and community organizations. Contract funds are received from
the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. We
subsidize every girl and young woman at Our Friends' Place.
Program fees received do not cover the full cost of care.
We need and appreciate all
monetary donations, please click here to donate.
Our Friends' Place
consistently works to expand our fundraising efforts. In 2003,
we expanded our annual luncheon fundraiser to an evening gala,
bringing in more revenue. Some of our contributors in 2004
included: Ebby Halliday REALTORS, ExxonMobil Corporation,
Trammell Crow Company, The Staubach Company, The Stemmons
Foundation, Dallas Womens Foundation, The Forrest C. Lattner
Foundation, The Perot Foundation, Dr. and Mrs. Warren Melamed,
Mr. and Mrs. Alan Losinger, Speedway Childrens Charities, and
Dallas Young Lawyers Auxiliary.
